I wish I was a STAR

I wish I was a star.

and i'm not talking about a movie star, or someone famous
but an actual star. up in the sky

because then longer after i'm gone, people would still see my glory
the light shining from very soul
i would blend in with many others, but i'd stand out in my own way

they might even include me in a constellation
or give me my own name

i wouldn't have to change how i look to be beautiful to people
they would just gaze
i'd be burning bright, happily
i'd be something amazing, something wonderful

i could provide life and warmth for a planet, or an entire galaxy
people would look at that horizon just to wave goodbye to me at night
and i'd greet them in the morning

i would be taking care of so many people
keeping them warm
keeping them safe
provide life
providing hope
